Seafood trade exhibition in Dubai 2018

The 7th edition of Seafex held in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai from 30 October to 1 November 2018 at the Dubai World Trade Center saw the participation of operators in the seafood and agri-food sector from 111 countries. The Seafex event – a pavilion dedicated exclusively to seafood and agri-food products – is one of the three events included in the “Speciality Food Festival” in Dubai.

The Seafex exhibition organized in the most important and populous city of the Dubai emirates represents a promotional and economic event of international scope for the development prospects of Italian companies, in particular Sicilian ones due to the presence at the fair of large importers, buyers, distributors and managers of the catering. During the three days of the event, a pre-arranged lab area in the Italy pavilion organized show-cooking sessions with tastings that allowed Italian products to be appreciated and valued, especially Sicilian agri-food and fish products. A return of the Made in Italy image that is certainly flattering towards a select public of international operators and visitors who have constituted a natural sounding board at a global level.

A more than positive balance sheet, a good success in terms of the presence of sector operators and interest in Made in Italy products.

The UAE area plays a strategic role for the internationalization of the Sicilian production system, particularly for the seafood and food sector.

Dubai is a strategic point of connection with the countries of Asia and North Africa. The low customs duties on imported food products represent an opportunity for Sicilian companies that intend to internationalize and enter new markets.
